Laurie McCann Crowell has apprenticed under
some of the countries top prepared
and fancy food creators. She attributes much of her gourmet appreciation
to and continues to be inspired by Barefoot Contessa’s Ina Garten
with whom she worked in East Hampton, New York.
Voted one of the “Top 100 Minnesotans to Watch,” by Mpls./St.Paul
Magazine, McCann Crowell develops her Golden Fig line of specialty
foods items locally in Minneapolis.
All Golden Fig items are blended and bottled in small batches on
a weekly basis. Which ensures your spices, vinegars or sugars will
arrive to you with the freshest flavor around.
Golden fig products are a simple way to add spectacular pizazz to
anything you are cooking, baking or making.
McCann Crowell stays involved with the Twin Cities food scene with
regular appearances and speaking engagements including cooking demonstrations
on Kare 11 and KSTP Channel 5 and live demonstrations for the Friends
of the St. Paul Farmers Market.
A regular on the cooking class scene she has taught at Cooks of
Crocus Hill as well as Byerlys and has addressed the Women’s Auxiliary
of Coon Rapids on Women as Small Business Owners.
McCann Crowell’s charitable involvements include Kid’s Café, a local
organization bringing hot meals to underprivileged children and
entities supported by Les Dames E’scoffier, an international organization
of which she is a board member.
Les Dames E’scoffier International is dedicated to supporting and
promoting the achievement of women in the culinary professions and
to fostering excellence through educational and charitable activities.
